You should care. The way in which a war ends determines subsequent events. See, for example, November 11, 1918, and after. As a historian, you surely get the point. The Russo-Ukrainian War needs to be terminated in a manner that doesn’t store up trouble for the future. That means a Ukrainian victory of sufficient scope to discredit the V. Putin regime, and a postwar settlement that knits Ukraine into the fabric of US/European collective security.
